An Old Nurse Lays Dying

Down those white washed halls

Lays a 67 years old nurse

Never adverse to hard work and strife

To a nation born

She was the midwife

She lived a good life

Despite misfortune (and countless set backs)

She stuck to her tracks and helped the sick

She used to say “There is no trick, you just need to care “

Now she lies in bed with a vacant stare

Going under the gas of privatisation

Yes,

A 67 years old nurse

Who barely took vacations

Lays dying upon white sheets

Her heart beats

Monitored by machines

While Behind drawn screens

Free market dreams

Become profitable nightmares
